Holt FC edged out Kingsdown FC Development with a 2-1 victory in a tightly contested match, with all the goals coming in an action-packed first half. The win saw Holt FC displaying solid defence and seizing key moments in the game to claim the three points.
Holt FC started brightly, taking the lead as early as the 7th minute. Sam Legh-Cole struck first, finishing off a well-timed pass from Jacob Nsirim to put the hosts 1-0 up. The early goal set the tone for Holt, who continued to apply pressure on the Kingsdown defence.
Kingsdown FC Development fought back, and their persistence paid off in the 24th minute when they managed to level the score with a well-taken goal. However, Holt was not to be deterred, and they reclaimed the lead in the 31st minute. Jamie Morris found the back of the net with a composed finish, capitalizing on some confusion in the Kingsdown defence to make it 2-1.
The second half was a more subdued affair, with neither team able to find a breakthrough. Holt FC’s defence, marshalled effectively by Kieran Plummer, stood firm under pressure from Kingsdown’s attack. Plummer’s composed defending and leadership at the back earned him the Man of the Match award.
Kingsdown pushed hard for an equalizer, but Holt FC’s disciplined defensive display and some fine goalkeeping kept the visitors at bay.
