Avon Valley FC suffered a 1-0 defeat against Division One high flyers Semington Magpies in the Knockout Cup and they must think that the cup God’s are against them. The Salisbury based side were drawn against another of the top flight’s inform sides in the PAH Accounting sponsored A&B Cup and despite pushing Holt FC all the way they saw their cup dreams ended by another 1-0 loss.
After a goalless first half it was Adam Welch who claimed the winner for Holt on 48 minutes, however his effort was going wide before it deflected in of the unfortunate Ryan Magill.
Holt will host the winners of the postponed tie between The Stiffs and Trowbridge Town Tigers.
