Holt FC 1 Freshford United FC 1

With the top two in the Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge & District League, First Division in Knockout Cup action, third placed Holt FC knew that if they defeated Freshford United FC they would close to within 1 point of both Seend United and Semington Magpies.

In what was a bad afternoon for Nigel Tripp’s side they dropped two valuable points in the title race as they were held to a surprise 1-1 draw at home by Freshford United.

Robbie Tripp and Jacob Nsirim combined on 32 minutes to give Holt the lead, Tripp making it 1-0 with his third goal of the season.

Freshford who have had an up and down first season back in the top flight, shocked their hosts in the 54th minute as Alfie Little’s sixth goal of the campaign for the first team, saw parity restored and was enough to earn Chris Birleson’s side a share of the spoils.
