Holt FC put on an emphatic display at home, thumping The Stiffs FC 6-1 in a one-sided encounter. The star of the show was Joseph Bakali-Laughton, who scored a first-half hat-trick to set the tone for a dominant performance. The Stiffs FC had no answer to Holtโs attacking quality as they succumbed to a heavy defeat.
The match began with Holt FC asserting their dominance early on. Joseph Bakali-Laughton opened the scoring in the 24th minute, thanks to a well-placed assist from Matthew Lindsay. Just seven minutes later, Bakali-Laughton doubled his tally, this time capitalizing on an accurate pass from Matt Goodwill in the 31st minute. By the 43rd minute, Bakali-Laughton completed his first-half hat-trick, converting a cross from Samuel Legh-Cole to make it 3-1 as Holt FC took full control.
The second half saw Holt continue to press forward, and they were rewarded with a fourth goal in the 65th minute when Samuel Legh-Cole found the back of the net following a neat build-up. The Stiffs FC struggled to contain the relentless Holt attack and could do little to stop the onslaught.
In the final minutes of the match, Holt added two more goals. Jacob Nsirim got on the scoresheet in the 88th minute, assisted by Harry Fitzsimons, before Maxwell Griffiths wrapped things up with a goal in the 89th minute, making it 6-1 to Holt.
Holt’s Maxwell Griffiths received a yellow card in the 73rd minute, but the match was otherwise played in a professional manner by the home side.
Joseph Bakali-Laughtonโs extraordinary hat-trick performance earned him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match, with his clinical finishing setting the tone for Holtโs resounding victory.
