Holt FC delivered a clinical performance to defeat The Stiffs FC 3-0 at home, with goals from Robbie Tripp, Adam Welch, and Joseph Bakali-Laughton securing all three points. It was a dominant display from start to finish, as Holtโs attacking quality and defensive discipline proved too much for their opponents.
The first breakthrough came in the 15th minute. A perfectly timed assist from Adam Welch allowed Robbie Tripp to open the scoring, finishing confidently to give Holt a 1-0 lead. The Stiffs FC struggled to respond, as Holt continued to control possession and create chances. In the 27th minute, Matt Goodwill found Adam Welch, who slotted home to extend the lead to 2-0. The visitors had little to show offensively, as Holtโs defence kept them at bay.
The second half saw Holt FC further assert their dominance. In the 56th minute, Kieran Plummer played a brilliant pass to Joseph Bakali-Laughton, who made no mistake in finishing the chance to make it 3-0. Despite the best efforts of The Stiffs FC, they were unable to break down Holtโs resolute defence or create any clear-cut chances.
Holt FC’s Harry Fitzsimons received a yellow card in the second half, but there were no further disciplinary issues for the home side as they saw out the remainder of the match with ease.
Matt Goodwill was named Man of the Match for his all-around performance, providing an assist, controlling the midfield, and linking up play to perfection throughout the game.
